Google Analytics : Why to use and Why not to?

Hi All!
You guys must thinking that am I gonna mad that I am saying no to google? But There are some facts regarding Google analytics that we can’t ignore. Let me say first what is Google Analytics?  Google Analytics is a web analytics service or re-branded web analytics “URCHIN” that google has bought in 2005.
Like other web analytics services Google Analytics is a service that tells you where visitors to your site are coming from, what links on the site are getting the most traffic, what pages visitors are viewing, how long people stay on the site, which products on merchant sites are being sold and where people give up in multistage checkout processes. The difference between these tools or web site analyzers is that Google tracking is not done in real-time, they use a system what’s similar to log analyzers. That mean it will not measure human behavior or what’s done by the visitor.
Another fact about Google Analytics that It does’t work for Safari Web Browser that almost all Mac Users have. The Google Analytics Service is free to use. Google doesn’t charge anything for using Google Web Analytics Service.

The Question?
Google already knows a lot of things about you. If you also use their tracking service, you will tell Google all about your products, customers and earnings. Do you really want sahre this information with google while using Google Adwords for PPC Ads? Even Google claims that it doe’s use analytics data for other use, Google engineer Matt Cutts has written in his blog: “Blackhat SEOs may be leery of using Google for analytics, but regular site owners should be reassured.” Now isn’t it two sided sword.

I am not against Google Analytics but everyone shold aware abou SEO tricks that which all trick you have to avoid. I use itself Google Analytics for Many sites. So, do it with care as Ranking on google is always to be preffered.

I will write my next blog for BalckHat and Grey Hat tricks for more elobration of this topic.

So, Move ahead. And don’t forget to share your opinion’s with me.

  1. Hi If you think google is using everything to keep your track record then please also avoid google toolbar, new browser Chrome and google desktop as well.
What you have to say about all these things?

  2. You are right. We should be aware of google. Google wants to play with his Adwords much better way and for this Google is trying to track the most online activities. Remember when Google has stolen the idea of Sponsered links from Overture. So, Google is best search but not the the best friend enough.

So we must know that what larry is planning. And about Google Chrome it’s not a kind of browser which suits al sites. They still have a long way to go.

The Google services for personal’s has a great efforts and I appreciate that but when it comes to tracking that I won’t choose Adwords and Analytics both together while doing Grey SEO practices. And the SEO practices of these days are really not a 100% standard. So….

Its your turn to write me something or inputs on this blog post
