I think above is pretty much for introduction. I deviated myself from the topic. I was about to talk about myths. So lets start now on “Affiliate Marketing Myth”. For every myth there are two prospective, one is of merchant and one is of affiliate. I am just listing common myths to save myself from writing such long.

  1. Affiliate Marketing is not easy: Answer to this is affiliate marketing is not difficult. It’s tricky. A merchant should start recruiting affiliate only when they completed their testing on their own. Testing includes landing page performance, conversion rate, and product testimonial and ofcourse payment methods. Further affiliates need to promote only authentic products symmetrical to their website nature. Never rush into affiliate war. Remember that you need to grow a tree before reap the fruit. Quality content is what is required most at affiliate side as users wanted to look after those only.
  2. Affiliate Marketing gives huge money: There is no concept of getting quick money via affiliates marketing and bewares of these frauds. It also depends what is huge money for you. Some people just look 100$ a day as a huge money so its great. In affiliate marketing you need to test that how much money spend returns to what? In simple language ROI. Every visitor on your website costs, even if its your labor only. So look from these prospective.
  3. So many affiliate programs will return best: You have to build a stand alone website for it, write dozens of promotional articles for it, create videos to promote it, and drive traffic by way of PPC programs such as Google Adwords.  Tread lightly when just starting out.  Build up one program at a time and then add to your portfolio of programs until you are earning what you want to earn.
  4. Affiliate Marketing is spam: There are some in this category but it’s not true. Learn basic SEO and email marketing. Make a double opt-In list and you will be free of these comments.

Above four points are just to make you comfortable to know that affiliate marketing is not bad. It’s a future. No body can promote their product/services on every dimension. Advertisings are for that only. But advertising is far away from affiliates. Affiliate marketing about endorsing and giving your stamp of approval on a product or service to individuals in your network.  It’s also about growing your network.  Advertising is mainly about creating awareness about a brand.
